Self Perception
DSA, Durham, NC
2022, AP 2D Art and Design
Graphite and colored pencil on paper pasted to cardboard.
~(1.5ft x 4ft)
I made this piece during a time where I struggled a lot with my appearance and would spend lots of time in front of the mirror or looking at photos of myself, just thinking about the way I looked. This obsession made me feel like I was imprisoning myself, yet I struggled to stop.
I was very intentional with scale in this piece, choosing to work with dimensions that were similar to my mirror at home.
